Prior to the actual presentation of any choral selection or instrumental song, there is much preparation that goes on behind the scenes.
Every Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., the ChristWay choir and band meet to rehearse music, review the week’s schedule, and strategically plan for the future. New music is distributed each week, and the choir/band members discuss the activities and special events noted in the music ministry newsletter, “The InCHOIRer.” Following a prayer for special needs, Keith teaches new music and technique in an intensive, yet enjoyable setting.
Approximately one hour prior to the Sunday morning service, the band assembles in the Worship Center to run through the selected music and to conduct a sound check with the audio technicians.
Our work philosophy is based upon the fundamental belief that perfect practice makes perfect – and that philosophy can be evidenced by observing weekly rehearsals and sectionals. Members of the music ministry are very committed to quality and to music that is empowered by the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
Every Sunday morning, choir members assemble at 9:30 a.m. in the Choir Room to vocally warm-up, run through specific sections of the day’s selected music, and to focus on the Word of God through a timely devotion and special prayer. At approximately 10 minutes prior to service time, the choir and band assemble on stage to lead the congregation in worship. The many hours of song selection, arranging, and rehearsal all culminate with this moment – when the choir and band join with Pastor Bryant to present The Message.
